Update and Reminders

Hi, everyone. A few things for ya...

1.) Check out the newly updated "weekly schedule" and "important dates" links to the right. Also, I just updated the "course documents" link as well so that you can perhaps view the upcoming "Film History Essay" requirements and the "Novel Adaptation #2 Assignment".

2.) Speaking of that assignment, be thinking about a worthy novel that you'd like to focus on for this project. We start that process on Wednesday of this week.

See you all soon!

WEEKEND UPDATE:

Hi, everyone. I hope you're enjoying the last weekend of April!

Below and to the right are the recently updated "weekly schedule" and "important dates" links. We start with a brand new "film history" unit on Monday. I think you'll enjoy it. But then again, I'm a big history dork!

Overall, nice job on the Director Presentations in class today (Friday). I'm looking forward to reading your essays in the near future. Expect feedback soon.

Take care, all. See you soon.

Medical update...

Hey, everyone. Thanks for the work with Mr. J today, once again.

My "procedure" in Detroit went fairly well today despite a few complications. I'm actually writing you from Detroit right now as I (and my still-recovering wife) am not fit to drive anywhere after the day. Soooooooo, it looks like I will be absent from school tomorrow (Wednesday) again.

Please continue the hard work with the director research, and, of course, email me with any questions and/or concerns. The Friday due date still stands!

Also, the "job" articles are important as you build your knowledge of the film industry. Be ready to talk more about them when I return!

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Happy RAINY weekend...

Hi, everyone. First, thanks for the good work with Mr. J yesterday (Friday) in class. Of course, I can field any research-related questions you might currently have when I return on Monday. Feel free to continue the research on your own this weekend!

Reminder: be prepared for all director research-related items this next Friday, April 30...ESSAYS and PRESENTATIONS.

And, like always, check the newly updated "important dates" and "weekly schedule" links to the right.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

WEEKEND UPDATE:

Hi, everyone! The Robinson clan made it back home safe and sound from the hospital late this morning...all is well although, Mom is still in pain.

I hope everything's been going well with Mr. J! And HOPEFULLY you've been able to read some selections in class these past couple of days that kept you interested.

I'll be back to class on Monday, and we'll spend that day doing a bunch of review in order to "catch up"...for me and for you guys! Plus, we'll continue our "genre" discussion and, of course, finish "Bang..." and accompanying discussion.

Please check out the updated "weekly schedule" and "important dates" links to the right in order to fully prepare for next week.

Have a good weekend, all!

Baby News!

It's a GIRL! hahahaha....Quinn Nora Robinson, born this morning at 1:54 A.M....10 lbs. and 2 ounces! Yikes...wife/mom is fine...everyone's fine. Thanks for all the thoughts and well-wishes!

First, please continue to check this site for updates/announcements/directions in addition to Mr. J in class.

You'll be on a bit of an altered schedule this week due to my string of absences. As soon as the "National Treasure" assignment is complete, we'll delay the rest of the "genre" talk until I get back. Instead, be prepared to have time for a FREE READ in class on Thursday and Friday (if i'm not present). This means bring something to class with which you'll be interested in reading for pleasure! This also means that the quiz that is scheduled for Monday regarding "genres" will be delayed until further notice.

As of now, I will definitely be absent for class tomorrow (Thursday) and most likely on Friday. But again, keep checking this blog for updates!

Hope all is well, everyone.

We're almost back!

Yippee, huh?! :)

Seriously though, i'm looking forward to seeing you all again and getting back down to business.

I hope that you guys have enjoyed your breaks and that you had safe traveling and a lot of fun with family/friends.

As for the Robinson household, STILL no baby news...the wife is ummmmmm...a bit impatient with the ol' baby at this point...just wants it to pop out already, ya know? Anyway, we're also all recovered (kind of) from the Spartan bball debacle a while back...I know you all care. :)

Regarding the class, check out the "weekly schedule" and "important dates" links to the right in order to review the upcoming week. Also, remember that we've got a big "Novel Adaptation" due date on Monday! Remember to bring your assignment AND your book that day. Please let me know if you need anything in this last day or two, everyone.

Take care!

PS. I suppose if you do NOT see me on Monday, it's due to upcoming baby news...fingers crossed.

Sunday, April 4, 2010

Dang it...

State! :(

The wife and I are currently in mourning after the bball loss...and still no baby!

In all seriousness, I hope you guys are enjoying your time off!

Take care, and let me know if there's anything you need from me.

(Snowy) Weekend Update...

Nice weather, huh, guys?! Man....

Anyway, please check out the recently updated "important dates" and "weekly schedule" links to the right in order to prepare for next week's classes.

A few reminders:

1.) We have a "Film Term Notes QUIZ" on Monday over all of our recent notes taken in class. NOT included on the quiz are "literary terms".

2.) Your "Movie Review #2" assignment is DUE ON MONDAY.

3.) Be thinking about (and perhaps gathering) a worthy 250 pg. and above NOVEL for our upcoming "Novel Adaptation Assignment #1". Remember, the novel MUST have been adapted into a film version in order for the book to be appropriate. AND it needs to be a book that you have NOT read before. The assignment will be officially introduced on Tuesday of next week, and you NEED to have a selection by Wednesday.

Note: There is a chance that I will not be in class again on Monday due to a doctor appointment, but the schedule for that day would not change either way.

Have a good rest of the weekend! Spring Break is just around the corner....

PS: Go State!
